The seven sacraments of the Catholic Church were instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church to make the love of God real and present in the world.

Baptism is the first of the seven sacraments by which one becomes a member of the Church and a new creature of Christ. Parents wishing to make arrangements for baptizing their children should call Carol Jefferies in the Faith Formation Office at 410-879-1706,
ext. 31. Expecting parents are encouraged to contact the office before the birth of their child. Classes for parents and Godparents are scheduled through the office of Faith Formation at the above noted phone number. Baptisms are celebrated on the third Sunday of the month at the 11am Mass and on the fourth Sunday of the month at 12:30.

| Reconciliation is the liturgical celebration of God's loving forgiveness of sin. The sacrament is offered every Saturday at 3:00 PM in the Chapel. First Reconciliation is offered to eligible children in grade 2 and above. The Archdiocesan eligibility requirement is that the child has participated in a Religious Education program for the year before and the year of preparing to receive the sacrament. First Reconciliation is celebrated in Advent. |

| Eucharist is considered the heart of the Church's life and worship. It is also called the Mass or the Lord's Supper. Participation in the Sunday celebration of the Eucharist is expected of all Catholics of the age and ability to do so. First Eucharist is offered to eligible children in grade 2 and above. The Archdiocesan eligibility requirement is that the child has participated in a Religious Education program for the year before and the year of preparing to receive the sacrament. First Eucharist is celebrated after Easter. |

Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism through an outpouring of special gifts of the Holy Spirit. Preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation is offered to young people entering the 9th grade. | Matrimony is the foundation of the Christian family. When marriage takes place between baptized persons who enter into a covenant modeled on that between Christ and the Church, it is recognized as a sacrament. It is an exclusive contract between a man and a woman. Couples preparing for marriage should contact the rectory at least 6 months in advance of the desired date. |

| Anointing of the Sick –In this sacrament the Church celebrates its mission of spiritual and physical healing. Individual requests should be directed to the Pastoral Associate. A mass of Healing and Anointing is celebrated in October. |

| Holy Orders – In this sacrament men are ordained to serve the Church as bishops, priests, or deacons. Any young man interested in information regarding a vocation to the priesthood should contact Fr. Gerard Francik at 410-547- 5426 in the Vocations Office for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. |
